The fire helicopters with 19 persons on board took off from Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Chief of aviation Unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Colonel Ashraf Gasimov told journalists that one of the helicopters was Mi-17-1B, the other Ka-32A.
These helicopters will help extinguish forest fires near Voronej and Lipetsk. Gasimov said the delegation would stay in Russia for two weeks, or more if necessary. According to him, the helicopters will start extinguishing fires from tomorrow.
