Guzdak Aviation Center to be maintained

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA. Guzdak Aviation Center located in Garadagh district of Baku will be maintained in the nearest future, chairman of Voluntary Military Patriotism Technical Sport Society, General Major Novruzali Orujov told APA.

Orujov noted that the area of Aviation center had been cleared off mines and UXOs remained buried in the ground from the Soviet occupation period. He said that some vehicle techniques in area of the center had been stolen in 1992-1993, soviet armed forces took some of the techniques with themselves while leaving Azerbaijan: “Nevertheless, some aircrafts of Guzdak Aviation Center were being maintained at military units of Defense Ministry. We will involve those aircrafts in flies”.

To him, there are An-2, YaK-52, YaK-55 model airplanes in the inventory of Guzdak Aviation Center. Voluntary Military Patriotism Technical Sport Society is planning to purchase modern and widely used aircrafts in the world.

Orujov also noted that it would be possible to organize competitions on technical types of sport at the Guzdak Aviation Center.
