He said there was no proposal on changing of the number of Azerbaijani peacekeepers in Afghanistan. Generally Baku can provide Afghanistan with civilian and military assistance at its request.
Azerbaijani Parliament made decision on October 2, 2008 to send 45 peacekeepers to Afghanistan in addition to the Azerbaijani contingent there. Currently 95 Azerbaijani servicemen are making their contribution to ISAF as part of Turkish battalion under the NATO Command.
