United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths urged the Group of Seven (G7) to "immediately" utilize their political influence and financial resources to ensure that aid organizations can effectively assist "all people in need," especially in Gaza and Sudan. Griffiths made this call prior to the G7's scheduled meeting in Italy tomorrow, APA reports citing BBN.
"In Gaza, half of the population – more than one million people – is expected to face death and starvation by the middle of July," the officer added.
Griffiths further pointed out that the continuous fueling of war machines that "are starving the civilians of Gaza and Sudan" is a larger issue. "It is time instead to prioritize the diplomacy that will give people back their futures," he concluded.
