Türkiye condemns attack on the ship Conscience, belonging to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, in international waters off Malta, said Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Öncü Keçeli, APA’s Istanbul correspondent.
He stated that Turkish citizens were also aboard during the incident.
“The crew and passengers are in good health. Necessary efforts are being made, in coordination with Maltese authorities, to ensure the safe transfer of our citizens. We strongly condemn this attack which threatens freedom of navigation and maritime security in international waters,” Keçeli said.
He also highlighted claims that the ship was targeted by Israeli drones: “All necessary steps will be taken to uncover the details of the attack and ensure those responsible are held accountable.”
