New apartments were presented to families who lost their homes as a result of the earthquake that occurred in Hatay province of Türkiye in February, 2023, APA's Türkiye correspondent reports.
President of the country Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the official presentation ceremony of the houses. In the first stage, 7,275 apartments were presented to the owners in Hatay.
During his speech at the ceremony, Erdogan stressed that in two months, 75,000 apartments will be given to their owners in the region where the earthquake occurred. According to him, 200,000 houses are expected to be ready by the end of the year.
Erdogan also thanked the countries that helped Türkiye after the earthquake:
"We thank, first and foremost, our 35,250 search and rescue teams, including 11,500 foreign team members, 142,000 security guards, health workers, miners, forest workers, volunteers, and all our brothers on behalf of myself and my people."
