Türkiye is closely monitoring recent developments between Pakistan and India with concern, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports, citing the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye.
The ministry condemned India’s overnight (May 6) attack, stating it poses a risk of a full-scale war. Ankara strongly denounced provocative actions and assaults targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The statement called on both parties to exercise restraint and avoid unilateral steps.
“We hope necessary measures will be taken promptly to de-escalate tensions in the region, and mechanisms—including cooperation in counter-terrorism—will be established to prevent similar incidents from recurring. We also support Pakistan’s demand for an investigation into the April 22 terrorist attack,” the statement reads.
