A top Hezbollah commander with a $7m bounty on his head for bombing the US embassy was killed in an Israeli airstrike, sources said, APA reports citing The Telegraph.
Ibrahim Aqil, Hezbollah’s operations manager, died in the attack on central Beirut, Hezbollah officials told AFP news agency. At least eight were killed and 59 injured, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.
The IDF confirmed it had carried out a “targeted strike” in Beirut on Friday afternoon without providing any further details.

Lebanese health authorities reported that at least three people were killed and more than a dozen others wounded in an Israeli strike on Beirut on Friday, the first such Israeli attack on the Lebanese capital in months, APA reports citing Associated Press.
The Israeli strike came after Hezbollah pounded northern Israel with rockets and the region awaited the revenge promised by the militant group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah for this week’s mass bombing attack on pagers and walkie-talkies belonging to Hezbollah members.

The target of the Israeli airstrike in Lebanon’s capital Beirut a short while ago was Ibrahim Aqil, security sources told Israeli media, APA reports citing the Times of Israel.
Aqil sits on the Jihad Council, Hezbollah’s top military body.
He has also been wanted by the United States for his role in the 1983 bombing of a US Marines barracks in Beirut, as well as directing the taking of American and German hostages in Lebanon in the 1980s.
The US had placed a $7 million bounty on Aqil.
