Iran launches impeachment process against minister of roads and transportation over Bandar Abbas blast

Iran's parliament has initiated an impeachment process against Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzaneh Sadeghi, Mohammad Manan Raeisi, a member of the parliamentary Development Committee told Tasnim News Agency, APA reports.

“So far, more than 40 signatures have been collected in the parliamentary system to impeach the minister, and based on recent updates, the number of requesting MPs is increasing,” Raeisi said.

He listed key reasons for the impeachment as negligence in port management, miscalculations, inactivity, and problems in regulating the real estate market.

Notably, a powerful explosion occurred at Shahid Rajaee Port in the city of Bandar Abbas on April 26. According to the latest data, 70 people died and many others were injured.
