The Houthis from the Yemeni rebel movement Ansar Allah have delivered strikes on the US aircraft carrier groups led by the USS Harry Truman and USS Carl Vinson, spokesman for the group’s armed forces Yahya Saree said, APA reports citing TASS.
"Missile troops, drone units, and naval forces conducted two military operations against American aircraft carriers the USS Harry S. Truman and Carl Vinson and their associated ships in the Red and Arabian Seas, using cruise missiles and drones," he said in a statement posted on his Telegram channel.
According to the Houthi spokesman, these operations were carried out "in the context of resisting America’s aggression against Yemen and supporting the Palestinian people."
Apart from that, in his words, Houthi air defenses shot down a US MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance drone over the Hajjah governorate in northwestern Yemen. This was the seventh such drone downed by the rebels during this month, he added.
