Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), received on Thursday a Russian military delegation led by Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko in Pyongyang, APA reports citing the DPRK's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
Kim and Krivoruchko held talks and "shared recognition of the importance and necessity of the military cooperation between the two countries to defend mutual security interests," the report said.
Reiterating his appreciation of the significance of the DPRK-Russia Pyongyang summit held in June, Kim stressed "the need for the armies of the two countries to get united more firmly to dynamically lead the DPRK-Russia relations in the new era and play an important part in defending regional and global peace and international justice," the report said.
One month earlier, Kim and Russian President Vladimir Putin held summit talks and signed The Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in Pyongyang.
