Amiri decree dissolves Kuwait parliament

An Amiri decree issued on Thursday stated that the parliament of Kuwait would be dissolved due to constitutional violations committed by a member of the National Assembly, APA reports quoting the Kuwaiti state news agency KUNA.

"The decree, which cited article 107 of the Constitution, said that the National Assembly had violated the Constitution within the context of using improper terms in addressing His Highness the Amir...Article 107 states the Amir may dissolve the National Assembly by a decree in which the reasons for dissolution shall be indicated," the agency stated.

The Kuwait Cabinet previously submitted its resignation to the new Emir Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
