Pakistani military claimed on Thursday to have killed seven terrorists in an operation in Kurram district of the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, APA reports.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said in a statement that security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the district on the reported presence of terrorists on Thursday.
The ISPR said that the troops effectively engaged the terrorists' location, as a result of which seven terrorists were killed, and five of them got injured during the operation.
The military added that the terrorists' hideout was busted and a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was recovered.
According to the ISPR, the killed terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as innocent civilians.
A clearance operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, added the ISPR.
