Baku-APA. Hundreds of young Jordanians started an open-ended sit-in Thursday, demanding constitutional amendments and more freedom, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The sit-in was called for by a group of young Jordanians who started a group called "March 24th Youth Movement" on Facebook, which until Thursday attracted about 6,612 fans.

During the sit-in near Jamal Abdul Nasser Square in Amman, the demonstrators called for comprehensive reforms, uprooting corruption and dissolving the lower house, which they said does not represent Jordanians.

They also called for more involvement of youth in the decision- making process.

"People want the amending of the constitution, people want more freedoms and want an elected government in Jordan," chanted the demonstrators.

The participants plan to erect tents in a nearby location to continue demonstrations until all their demands are met.

On its Facebook page, the youth group calls for a lower house that represents Jordanians, elected national government, genuine constitutional amendments, persecuting corrupt persons, reducing security authorities grip and influence and realizing national unity.
