Mahmoud Ahmadinejad condemns Saudi Arabia for Yemen conflict

Baku. Suleyman Farzaliyev – APA. Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said US, Britain and Israel were behind the conflict in Yemen and instigated Saudi Arabia against Yemen, APA reports quoting ISNA. He said these countries armed Saudi Arabia to instigate confrontation in Yemen and Saudi was using those arms against its Muslim brothers. “We were expecting that Saudi Arabian officials act like a mentor and make peace between brothers, not that they themselves enter the war and use bombs ... and machineguns against Muslims. I hope that my Yemeni brothers sit down and talk and negotiate and solve the problems. If only a small part of the weapons of Saudi Arabia were used in favor of Gaza and against Israel, today there would be no sign of Israel in the regionâ€, said Ahmadinejad.
Saudi Arabia used force against the Yemen Shi’ite rebels in cross-border village of Al-Jaberi and killed many rebels. Four Saudi soldiers were killed during the operations. Saudi Army lost 82 soldiers and 21 became missing in Shi’ite raids started last November.
