“Insufficiency of intellectual property rights in Azerbaijan limits the country's access to technological opportunities in various fields,” US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Earle Litzenberger said at the 4th meeting of the US-Azerbaijan Economic Partnership Commission in Baku, ONA reports.
According to the Ambassador, the US hopes that significant steps will be taken in this area.
“It is not a secret that the products of US largest software vendors and pharmaceuticals pass the combat against piracy of the reliable legal system. Another important field for Azerbaijan is agriculture. For example, the US has become one of the key exporters of agricultural technology. Unfortunately, Azerbaijan is not available for some companies. The reason for this is the lack of sufficient intellectual property rights,” the Ambassador stated.
