SOCAR Turkey revealed plans related to export of petrochemical products

SOCAR's Star Oil Refinery in Turkey will export crude petrochemical products to the US worth USD 500 mln. until the launch of the new petrochemical complex planned to be constructed by SOCAR Turkey, ONA reports citing SOCAR Turkey.

The construction of a new petrochemical complex planned by SOCAR and BP in Turkey (Mercury project) will start in 2020. The complex is expected to operate by the end of 2023. The complex will include aromatic and purified terephthalic acid (PTA) enterprises.

1,25 mln. tons of purified terephthalic acid will be produced at the PTA factory. 830 thousand tons of paraxylene and about 400 thousand tons of benzene will be produced at the aromatics factory.
