The 52nd Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Board of Directors will be held in Nadi, Fiji on May 1-5, the ADB office in Azerbaijan told ONA.
Officials of ADB countries will attend the event. Azerbaijan will be represented at the meeting by a delegation led by Samir Sharifov, the country’s finance minister.
“Samir Sharifov will meet with the president, vice-presidents and other executives of the ADB at the 52nd Annual Meeting of ADB Board of Directors. During the meetings, the parties will discuss the existing relations between ADB and Azerbaijan and the expansion of these ties.”
The event is expected to bring together 3,000 people, including finance ministers, heads of central banks, senior government and private sector representatives, as well as representatives of international organizations.
Tourism, environment protection, climate change, women entrepreneurship, renewable energy sources and other topics will be discussed during the meeting.
Created in 1966, the ADB currently has 67 members. Azerbaijan became an ADB member in 1999 and since then the ADB has provided $4.61 billion in loans, guarantees, grants and technical assistance to the country.
