Fishing grows by 24% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Fishing conducted by farms during January, 2012, in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 11.700, up 24% compared to last year.

State Statistical Committee says some works are underway in direction of development of fishing in the country, meeting peopleâ€™s demand for fish and fish products. That is, 335 mln baby fishes with fishery importance were floated to natural water basins and reservoirs.

In accordance with the rules of fishing, last year, 1,061 tons of fish was hunted against 2,174 quotas given to 141 legal entities and individuals in the country. AZN 19.400 was paid within a year by the fishers for obtaining of quota.
