US President Donald Trump said he is ready to sit at the negotiating table with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin "if it's necessary", during a press briefing at the White House, APA reports citing RBC Ukraine.
Trump was asked to comment on his statement in which he threatened Putin with "really bad things" and said that the Russian President is "playing with fire."
The American president refused to specify what the potential consequences for Russia would be if the war does not end, but emphasized that "words speak pretty loud."
When asked why he had not imposed sanctions on Russia, Trump replied that he did not want to spoil the chances for a peace agreement, adding that if necessary, he would sit at the negotiating table with Zelenskyy and Putin.
