When determining its foreign policy, the American administration will be guided by the national interests of the United States, rather than the current world order, said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at a conference organized by the American Compass non-governmental analytical center, APA reports citing Pravda.

"The very idea that our foreign policy, depending on the location and the issue, should be focused and focused primarily on what is good for the United States has been completely lost. We have made decisions in foreign policy over and over again based on what is good for the international order or for the whole world," he said.

"And I'm not saying that these things don't matter, but the first priority of our foreign policy should be the United States and what is in the interests of the United States. This is not isolationism, but common sense," the US Secretary of State added.
