"The Kremlin has called on Israel and Iran to demonstrate maximum restraint to enable a future transition to peaceful settlement," said Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
Responding to a question on Russia’s possible mediation, Peskov said Moscow does not see any sign that Israel is willing to seek mediation or move toward a peaceful resolution with Iran.
“You know that the Russian side has declared its readiness to offer mediation services if necessary,” Peskov said.
He added that the conflict between Israel and Iran is rapidly escalating, with a high level of unpredictability: “Russia urges both sides to remain restrained and work towards a peaceful resolution.”
