"The US armed forces do not have sufficient means of protection against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)," stated a member of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress, Michael McCaul, APA reports citing Fox News.
"We don't have any countermeasures to block drones, and we need to develop them, because that's what military action will look like in the future," he said in an interview with Fox News.
"There are more and more drones in the air, thousands of them, millions of them already. They will be used by terrorists, and they will be used by states hostile to the United States. I think the Pentagon should allocate more funds for the development of modern military technologies, rather than spending them on old ships, which, being remnants of the Second World War, have become a kind of "dinosaurs". Of course, we need them too, but we need to focus on artificial intelligence technologies," the legislator added.
