The BRICS countries will adopt the world's first joint declaration on the fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI) governance at the upcoming summit in Rio de Janeiro in July, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has said, APA reports citing TASS.
"At the BRICS summit <...> a declaration on the governance of artificial intelligence will be adopted, which should serve all [countries]," he said in a speech streamed on the government’s YouTube channel. The Brazilian leader added that the lack of uniform rules for regulating AI "only benefits large corporations."
"Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing the foundations of production and education <...>. The opportunities that are opening up are limitless, but the risks are no less significant," Lula da Silva emphasized.
