Nominee for US ambassador to Turkey James Jeffrey faces with the protest of pro-Armenian senators

Washington –APA. US diplomat James Jeffrey nominated for the ambassador to Turkey spoke at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. During conversation with Ambassador Jeffrey, pro-Armenian senators brought false “genocide†issue in agenda, APA quotes Turkish newspapers. Responding the Robert Menendez’s question “What will the US do if Turkey recognizes genocide?â€, the ambassador said “the Administration has to make decision on itâ€. Menendez protested the Jeffrey’s speech when he used phrase of “forcible deportation†speaking about the 1915 events. Menendez said it contradicted to the speeches of US officials who used before the phrase of “ethnic cleansingâ€. Although James Jeffrey didn’t use the phrase of “ethnic cleansingâ€.
