Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. The observational mission of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) made a final statement on the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan conducted on November 7, 2010. There were 352 observers from 8 CIS countries in the mission, APA reports quoting the CIS Executive Committee.

The statement contains chapters “Legislative basis of the elections”, “Work of the election commissions for preparation of the elections”, “Nomination and registration of the candidates”, “Pre-election campaign”, “Electoral lists”, “Work with complaints and appeals”, “Voting and calculation of the votes” and “Assessment of the results”.

The mission considers that the government took necessary measures to hold democratic, transparent and free elections. Separate law infringements during the pre-election campaign had no massive character and didn’t prevent free choice of the voters, as well as didn’t have an impact on the final results.

CIS mission considers that the parliamentary elections on November 7, 2010 were conducted according to the legislative norms and well-organized.
