Russia doesn’t view PKK as terrorist organization: MFA

Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Fourth European Department Director, has said that they did not consider the PKK and the YPG as terrorist organizations, APA reported citing Interfax.

“Moscow does not consider the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and the self-defense forces of the Kurdish people as terrorist organizations. These organizations are not officially on Russia’s list of terrorists. That’s a fact,” the diplomat stressed.

In spite of Moscow’s position, Turkey and Russia are still in close cooperation.
