Putin’s adviser: Russia ready to disconnect from global Internet
Russia is technically ready to disconnect from the global Internet, although the process will not be painless, said Russian presidential adviser on Internet development German Klimenko in an interview with NTV channel, APA reports.
"Technically we are ready for any action. Failures always happen during transition from one technology to another. There is a good statement that any system is characterized not by mistakes and failures, but by the reaction to mistakes and failures. They say it will be painless, but I’m not so sure. Some protect their data abroad or have obtained a site domain from abroad. Therefore, some difficulties will probably be experienced. But generally there isn’t any problems in programming and apparatus," Klimenko said.
He noted that the Russian segment of the Internet network prepared for civil servants by the presidential decree is available now.
