Armenia to insist on its candidate for post of CSTO secretary general


Baku – APA. Armenia will insist on its candidate for the post of Secretary General of the Collective Security Treat Organization (CSTO), Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan told a press conference on Wednesday, according to news.am.

 

The deputy minister said that at the Yerevan summit in October there was no consensus on Armenia’s candidate and therefore the decision was postponed. Kocharyan said that the issue will be discussed.

 

"We insist and believe that the principle of rotation must act", said Kocharyan, adding that, according to this principle, Armenia’s candidate will be the next CSTO Secretary General.

 

The replacement of the CSTO secretary general was not discussed at the Yerevan because of the president of Kazakhstan was absent.
