At least three suicide bombers detonated themselves in front of the three churches in Indonesia's second-largest city Surabaya City in East Java on Sunday, killing at least two and injuring over a dozen, APA reports quoting Reuters.

The deadly explosions all reportedly occurred within 10 minutes of each other with the first explosion reportedly at 7.30 am local time (00:30 GMT). Local police were also investigating whether there was an explosion at a fourth church.

Local authorities have been unable to currently verify the number of casualties,

"The victims are being identified," Frans Barung Mangera, an East Java police spokesman, said, cited by Reuters.

Meanwhile, according to AFP, Police have only revealed details of one bombing assault on Santa Maria Catholic Church.

"We have confirmed one died at the scene, one died at the hospital, two police officers were injured and there are some civilians injured," Mangera said. "In total 13 people are being treated at the hospital," East Java police spokesman added.
