Ministry of Foreign Affairs comments on summoning of Azerbaijani ambassador to Iranian Foreign Ministry

APA reports quoting the Iranian newspapers that an explanation was demanded from the ambassador in connection with the spread of information in the press about the $1.6- billion arms deal between Israel and Azerbaijan.

Baku – APA. A group of Hungarian parliamentarians issued a statement on the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide. Azerbaijani embassy in Hungary told APA that the statement was signed by Márton Gyöngyösi, head of Hungary-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, deputy chairman of the parliament’s commission on foreign affairs.

Receb Tayyib Erdogan: “We will not forget and will not allow forgetting Khojaly”
Baku – APA. Turkish Prime Minister commemorated the anniversary of Khojaly tragedy during his address to the parliamentary group of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP). Erdogan said 613 people including 63 children and 106 women were killed by the Armenians in Khojaly 20 years ago. “I am remembering our brothers killed in Khojaly and praying for them. We express our solidarity with Azerbaijan and our Azeri brothers. The Khojaly tragedy was commemorated and condemned last Sunday in Istanbul and other cities of Turkey. Some slogans and posters raised by marginal groups during the Taksim rally can not overshadow our solidarity. We will support justice, law and peace, but not escalation of hate and wrath. We will not forget and will not allow forgetting Khojaly. We will continue mourning on our sisters and brothers killed in Khojaly”

US Georgia State’s House of Representatives passes Khojaly Massacre bill
Washington. Isabel Levine – APA. US Georgia State’s House of Representatives was the second to pass the Khojaly Massacre bill, after New Jersey, APA’s correspondent reports. The resolution 1594 to honor the memory of the victims of Khojaly Massacre on its 20th anniversary was passed, after the Azeri and Turkish Diaspora’s strong campaign.

According to the parliamentarian law draft already has been submitted to the parliament and foreign affairs commission of Grand National Assembly of Turkey already recognized Khojaly genocide officially. “On February 26, in various cities of Turkey, people pouring into the streets called genocide the incidents happened in Khojaly. Turkish people felt in their heart the genocide of Azerbaijanis. Now, it is Turkish parliament’s turn. I hope the parliament will make a fair decision”, said MP.

Ali Ahmadov: “We make serious remarks about the OSCE Minsk Group”
The Minsk Group couldn’t settle this conflict during the 20 years. A new generation without Karabakh grew up in the past 20 years. How many years should be spent for the settlement of the conflict? In my opinion, the Minsk Group, which couldn’t achieve anything for 20 years, should censoriously revise its activity”, Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of YAP, Ali Ahmadov told journalists, APA reports. Ahmadov said that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs had to announce how much years they need for the settlement of the conflict: “If they want to sum up the 20-year-old mediatory mission and start new one, they should determine a time framework. France’s steps say that this country is not able to fulfill the mediatory mission. The co-chairs must express their opinions about the France’s actions”.

Mayor of Calgary accuses Armenian armed forces of Khojaly massacre
Baku – APA. Due to the activity of Canada-based Alberta Azerbaijani Cultural Society (ALACS), Mayor of the City of Calgary Naheed Nenshi recognized the fact of Khojaly massacre and said Armenian armed forces were accountable for this crime. According to APA, the Mayor’s letter reads: “At night from February 25 to 26, 1992, Armenian armed forces surrounded the Khojaly town of Azerbaijan’s Nagorno Karabakh region, attacked the city and fired at the civilians intensively”.
