Azerbaijan commemorates 25th anniversary of Khojaly Genocide
On February 25-26, 1992, Armenia’s armed forces, together with the 366th infantry regiment of Soviet troops, stationed in Khankendi, committed an act of genocide against the population of the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly.

Ali Hasanov’s books on genocide policy against Azerbaijanis presented
Scientific editor of both books Elchin Ahmadov said that the ethnic cleansing conducted by Armenians against Azerbaijanis in the last two centuries, the genocide and aggressive policy have been analyzed in the book titled “Khojaly genocide: causes, consequences and international recognition”. He noted that the acts of genocide against Azerbaijanis and ethnic cleansing of them four times in 1905-1906, 1918-1920, 1948-1953 and 1988-1993 as a result of the aggressive policy of Armenians have been analyzed in the book titled “Stages of the policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide against Azerbaijanis”.

Whereas February should be a month filled with the premise of spring, in Azerbaijan it is a month of sadness. This sadness is shared by all of those around the world who value human life and uphold the rule of international law. That is because, on the night of 25–26 February 1992, the worst atrocity committed by invading Armenian armed forces was undertaken in the town of Khojaly. Altogether, during that 24-hour period, 613 civilians died – including 106 women, 63 children and 70 elderly people.
