Fazil Mammadov leaves for US to participate in presidential elections

President of Azerbaijan Field Hockey Federation, Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammadov and Vice-President of the Federation Namig Aliyev will leave for Los Angeles, Secretary General of the Federation Adil Pashayev told APA-Sport. He said that the aim of the visit was to participate in the presidential elections of the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

There are two candidates for this post. They are current FIH President and IOC Member Els van Breda Vriesman (NED) and FIH Executive Board Member and European Hockey Federation (EHF) President Leandro Negre (ESP). The presidential elections will be held on November 29. According to the regulations, one vote will be accepted from each FIH member association.

It is not yet known for whom the officials of Azerbaijan Field Hockey Federation will vote. Adil Pashayev said it would be discussed at the meeting of the Federationâ€™s Executive Committee.
