Azerbaijanâ€™s national team reaches final of European Championship

Baku. Kanan Hasanov - APA-Sport. Azerbaijani national womenâ€™s volleyball team has reached the final of the European Championship. APA-Sport reports that the team coached by Faig Garayev defeated Greek team in the play-off stage of the tournament 3:1 (29:27, 25:21, 23:25, 30:28). Azeri national team has gained the right to compete in the final of the European Championship in Poland in September, 2009.

The first match between the teams took place in Guba Olympic Complex on September 7. Azeri volleyball players won the game - 3:0 (25:20, 25:15, 25:15).

Azerbaijani national womenâ€™s team participated in the final of the similar competition twice. The team ranked the 4th in Croatia in 2005 and 12th in the championship in Belgium and Luxemburg last year.
