Bilbao. Elshen Mammadov - APA-Sport. Azerbaijan’s Teimour Radjabov suffered the first defeat in Grand Slam Chess Final Masters in Bilbao, Spain.
Azeri grandmaster was beaten by Norwegian Magnus Carlsen in the fourth round. Levon Aronian (Armenia) and Veselin Topalov (Ukraine) won over Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine) and Vishwanathan Anand (India), respectively. Topalov is the leader of the tournament by 8 points with Carlsen (7 points) the second leaving the third place to Aronian who has scored 5 points so far. Anand, Ivanchuk and Radjabov are ranked 4th-6th with 3 points each. Azeri player is to face Aronian in round 5 today. Ivanchuk is to encounter Topalov while Anand will play against Carlsen.
The competition with €400.00 total prize will last till September 13.
