Azeri wrestlers capture 6 medals in Euro

Baku. Agshin Aliyev - APA-Sport. Azerbaijan has gained 6 medals in European junior wrestling championship in Koshitse, Slovak Republic, APA-Sport reports.
4 of 7 wrestlers succeeded in Greco-Roman competition. Thus, Hasan Aliyev (55 kg) and Rafig Huseynov (74 kg) beat all rivals and became European champs. Kamran Mammedov (60 kg) sufferred failure only in final encounter. He eanred silver fter the defeat by Ucha Chavadze (Georgia). Khurshud Babashov (50 kg) took the third place. Other Azeri wrestlers, including Tural Huseynov (66 kg), Aydin Seferov (96 kg) and Araz Hesenov (84 kg) were 8th, 10th and 13th respectively. Two female wrestlers - Mariya Stadnik (48 kg) and Sona Ahmedli – succceded in freestyle struggle. Stadnik became European champ and Ahmedli gained a silver medal. So, within 4 days Azeri team earned 3 gold, 2 silver and a bronze medal.
Men’s freestyle wrestling competition has started today. Yashar Aliyev (55 kg), Jabrail Hasanov (66 kg) and Roman Bakirov (84 kg) are to perform today. Khanlar Shireliyev (50 kg), Aghali Ramazanov (60 kg), Pərviz Mammedov (74 kg) and Sebuhi Mammedov (96 kg) will join the competition tomorrow.
