A forest fire that broke out in the mountains near the Shikhlar village of Yardimli district on June 5 has been largely contained.There is no visible fire in the area except for some sources of smoke which are now being extinguished, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) told APA.
The windy weather and the rocky landscape are causing difficulty for the firefighters.
Participating in the operation are 90 of employees of the MES State Fire Protection Service, 3 firefighter vehicles, a BE 200 ÇS amphibian aircraft, a Mi-17 helicopter, 180 employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and local residents.
