Due to the recent precipitation, landslides have occurred in Ismayilli’s Mudrisa village and on the Lahij-Mudrisa highway, Aziz Garalov, head of the geological planning expedition of the National Geological Exploration Service under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, told APA.

A landslide area 120-140m in width and 280-300m in length has emerged in northeast of Lahij, Garalov noted.

He said the recent precipitation has created a new landslide area, which is 40-80m wide and 150-170m long, noting that new landslides have occurred in the Sadan landslide area in Siyazan as well.

The other affected areas are the Khizi-Altiaghaj highway (1st km, 11th-15th km), Baku-Shamakhy highway (106th-111th km), and Baku-Aghsu highway (132nd-156th km), Garalov added.

Garalov said that new landslide processes were observed in some parts of the Lankaran-Lerik highway.

“At the same time, there was relative activity in the dynamics of the current landslide process at the 10th kilometer of the Lerik-Qosmalyan-Kalvaz highway and landslide processes in some local areas. New landslides and avalanches have been recorded in several parts of Gagiran village of Lankaran district. The relative activity was observed at the 12th kilometer of the Tukevila-Diryan-Gagiran highway. The parameters of the Gullutepe landslide area in Masalli district have been increased. Activity in the dynamics of landslide and avalanche areas have been observed in some parts of the Masalli-Yardimli highway,” he added.

The official emphasized that activity have also been observed in Arigiran landslide area in Gadabay and Alunitdagh landslide area in Dashkasan district. According to him, the impact area of the current landslide area in Gazbabali village in Shabran district has expanded.
