As of January 1, 2018, the number of civil servants in Azerbaijan is 29,300, of which 28,8% are women, reads an article by Head of the Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, member of the Civil Service Management Board, Suleyman Ismayilov, which was published by AZERTAC on the occasion of June 23 - the holiday for civil servants.
The article noted that distribution of civil servants by age groups shows that the average age of employees in the public sector is 44 years and that these figures prove to be an opportunity for the youth to benefit from rich experience.
"In general, the number of civil servants who play a crucial role in the country's governance and development is very small, making up only a small percentage of the Azerbaijan’s working population - 0.6 per cent,” he said.
