The process of delimitation of borders with Georgia is relatively passive, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov told APA.
"But we hope that the Georgian side will intensify this work, and we are ready to meet at all levels - at the levels of both experts and commission members. We are ready to continue the work in accordance with the Georgian side's reaction. There is no fixed date for another meeting of the intergovernmental commission yet,” he said.
The deputy FM also touched upon the process of demarcation of borders with Russia.
“The process of demarcation of borders with Russia continues. This is a long-term process that is being carried out periodically. In the first stage, a 70-km border line was marked, and in the second stage 60 km was marked. That’s how we’re progressing through this. Working groups are periodically meeting and going to border zones when needed,” he added.
Khalafov noted that if needed, the demarcation commission holds a meeting and necessary documents are approved.
"Probably, we will hold a meeting by the end of this year,” he concluded.
