As of May 1, 2018, number of workers in Azerbaijan’s economy made up 1,538,200, including 887,200 workers in state sector, 651,000 in non-state sector.
According to the State Statistical Committee, 21.6% of hired workers were in education, 19% in trade; repair of transport facilities, 13.3% in industry, 8.6% in medical and social service for population, 6.7% in construction, 4.6% in transport and storehouse, 3.4% in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.2% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1.6% in finance and insurance and 10.9% in other spheres.
Average monthly salary of the wageworkers rose 3.5% to AZN 538.8.
