Akif Alizade has been elected president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).
Akif Alizade was elected in an election held during an annual meeting of ANAS on Friday, APA reports.
Sixty-six people took part in the election. All of them voted for Akif Alizade.

Candidacy of Akif Alizade has been nominated for the post of president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), APA reports.
It was decided to include the name of the academy’s incumbent president Akif Alizade in a secret ballot at an annual general meeting of ANAS on June 8.
Alizade has been presiding ANAS since 2013.
