The earthquake that shook Azerbaijan’s Zagatala district on June 5 lasted 28 seconds, the Republic Seismic Survey Center of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences ANAS) told APA.
The quake happened at 22:40 local time, 16km south of Zagatala station in Zagatala district, the Seismic Survey Center said.
The tremors measured magnitude 6 at the epicenter and 5-3 in surrounding districts.
A number of buildings have been damaged in the earthquake. Thirty-one people have gone to hospital. One person died of a stroke.
