No casualties were reported after a 6 magnitude earthquake hit Azerbaijan’s Zagatala district around 11:40 PM on June 5, the Health Ministry’s press service told APA.
In total 31 people were admitted to Gakh and Zagatala central district hospitals due to stress and hysteria caused by the earthquake, said the ministry’s press service.
Soltan Gandakhov, 63, resident of Goyam village of Zagatala district, alarmed by the earthquake died of a stroke due to high blood pressure. Gandakhov had previously been registered in Zagatala regional Cardiologic Dispensary.
Gakh resident Gular Durmushzade, 13, was hospitalized after spraining her ankle while trying to flee the house in a panic at the time of the earthquake.
