According to Reuters, US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he was still looking at June 12 summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

"We're doing very well in terms of the summit with North Korea," Trump was quoted as saying by Reuters at the White House. "It's moving along very nicely. So we're looking at June 12th in Singapore. That hasn't changed. So, we'll see what happens."

On Saturday, Seoul's presidential office said that earlier in the day South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had met for the second time in the village of Panmunjom in the demilitarized zone. During the meeting, Kim reportedly expressed a "fixed will" to hold a North Korea-US summit in Singapore and expressed commitment to denuclearize Korean peninsula.

On Thursday, the White House released Trump's letter informing Kim that he was canceling their meeting in Singapore scheduled for June 12. However, the following day, the US president indicated that he might yet meet the North Korean leader as scheduled or postpone the summit.

"We are having very productive talks with North Korea about reinstating the Summit which, if it does happen, will likely remain in Singapore on the same date, June 12th., and, if necessary, will be extended beyond that date," Trump said in a tweet on Friday.
