Teachers and other educators will undergo certification testing in Azerbaijan.
In this regard, the President of Azerbaijan has proposed draft laws on making amendments to the Labor Code and the Law “On Education,” APA reports.
According to the draft law, paragraphs 6-1 and 8-1 shall be added to Article 1 of the Law “On Education.”
The proposed paragraph 6-1 states that certification is a procedure for checking the professionalism of educators with higher and secondary education in state public educational institutions.
According to paragraph 8-1, an internationally accredited training program is an educational program that provides graduates with the right to study at two or more foreign universities in accordance with the standards established by an international organization or a foreign state (IB Diploma Program - International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, Advanced Level of General Certificate of Education and SABIS.
Article 67-2 proposed for the Labor Code (Certification of Employees of State Public Education Institutions in the Republic of Azerbaijan) states that in order to verify the professionalism of those working in public educational institutions in Azerbaijan, these employees will be drawn into the certification process in accordance with the Law on Education.
The draft laws will be tabled at tomorrow’s meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Labor and Social Policy.
