More than 430,000 foreigners have been granted Azerbaijani visas through ASAN Visa since January 2017, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASAN Service) Ulvi Mehdiyev told APA.
He noted that ASAN visas will be granted to citizens of 15 countries at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport from today.
"In the near future, ASAN Visa will be granted at other international airports in Azerbaijan. Visa issuance at airports is not new; however, the difference lies in the fact that there is no human factor in the new system Foreigners can access the terminals by downloading their passport data and enter the country with an e-visa within a maximum of 2 minutes. The system is transparent and automatic," he said.
Citizens of 15 countries - Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Japan, Indonesia, Iran, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, Israel and the UAE will be granted direct visas.
It is worth noting that e-visa issuance is provided to 95 countries through ASAN Visa. The visa fee via portal is $20. The entire system is fully automated and visa issuance is carried out via the website via www.eviza.gov.az for 3 days (standard) and 3 hours (emergency) prior to arrival in the country.
