Evasion from paying unemployment insurance and mandatory state social insurance to entail criminal liability

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has approved the amendment proposed by parliament on evasion from paying unemployment insurance and mandatory state social insurance entailing criminal liability.

The head of state has signed an order in this respect.

According to the amendment, the title of Article 213 (Tax evasion) is amended to read as follows: "Evasion from paying taxes, unemployment insurance or mandatory state social insurance ". The same expressions appear in the first paragraph of the article and the existing penalties apply.

According to the paragraph these acts are punishable by a fine of two to four times the amount of the damage inflicted by a criminal offense or corrective works for the term up to two years, or deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or to engage in certain activities for up to 3 years or imprisonment for a term up to one year.”
