Azerbaijan intends to intensify negotiations with Georgia on border delimitation, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov said on Thursday, APA reports.

“There is no church issue between Azerbaijan and Georgia. There is a border delimitation issue between Azerbaijan and Georgia,” he said.

Khalafov noted that as a result of the work carried out since 1996 to the date, two-thirds of the 480-km border line between Azerbaijan and Georgia has been agreed upon.

"Work is underway to agree on the rest, as it is not an easy task. It requires a lot of work to be done. There is months of work being carried out in the field of disagreements, meetings are being held at an expert level. Contacts are being established through the commission chairman on Georgia’s side. Perhaps, the next meeting of the commission will be held this year,” he added.
