SOCAR has asked the Turkish government to declare the area housing Petkim as a strategic investment region, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SOCAR Turkey Vagif Aliyev told Turkish journalists.
According to him, planned investments on Turkey continue: ‘We have second investment project in addition to investments to reach $19.5 billion. An investment decision will be made for this project in 2019. Declaring of Aliaga region as a strategic investment region will facilitate our decision’.
‘We submitted our intention of strategic region to the government. We see ourselves as a strategic investor in Turkey. Turkey also sees us as a strategic investor’.
Aliyev also noted that $12.6 billion has been invested in Turkey so far: ‘After privatization of Petkim, we invest $100 million every year’.
